Steve Aoki

Steve Aoki was conceived in Miami, Florida on November 30 1977. American electro-house musician Record producer, D.J. Music executive. He is the third child of Chizuru Kobayashi and Rocky Aoki. His father was a former wrestler, who also founded the chain of restaurants Benihana. He has two brothers: Kana (sometimes called Grace), and Kevin (owner Doraku Sushi restaurant). His half-sister is Devon Aoki, a model and actress. He grew up in Newport Beach and graduated from Newport Harbor High School with an 1995 B.A. in badminton. He went on to UC Santa Barbara and graduated with two B.A. He was awarded two bachelor's degrees, one in feminist studies and the one in Sociology. He was a student at the college who recorded his own music and hosted underground music in his Biko area at the Santa Barbara Student Housing Cooperative. The Pickle Patch was born as a concert venue. He also participated in student activist activities during his time at UCSB. He created a Revolutionary Anti-Imperialist League Chapter on campus. In his early 20s, Dim Mak was establishing his own record label, which he named Dim Mak after his hero from childhood Bruce Lee. The band released I'm in the House in March 2010 as a collaboration with the Zuper Blahq, the alter-ego of will.i.am from The Black Eyed Peas. It reached the top spot at No. 29 in the U.K. Singles Chart in its 1st week of release. It then entered the U.K. Dance Chart & the U.K. Indie Chart, being among the top 5 on both charts. The track was featured on an episode of MTV's Jersey Shore. It also was featured in Piranha, the feature film Piranha and also in the trailer for Think Like A Man. The interview with HitQuarters in May of 2010 with Lucas Secon revealed that Rivers Cuomo and the singer had recently worked on a single. In 2012, Pollstar designated him as the highest-grossing dance artist in North America from tours. His collaborations include artists such Afrojack, LMFAO and Linkin Park, Will.i.am. Lil Jon, Blink-182, Laidback Luke. BTS, Louis Tomlinson. Rise Against. Vini Vici & Fall Out Boy. He's known for remixes of artists such as Kid Cudi
